Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes. Steven Robert Whary of Odem, Texas died May 12, 2012. He was 53. Steven was born in Pasadena, California on February 20, 1959 to Elvin and Marion Snow Whary. He was formerly of San Angelo, Texas but made Odem, Texas his home for the past ten years. Steven was a self-employed Agriculture Pilot for more than 20 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines.
Survivors include his wife Katherine Whary of Odem, Texas; brothers: James Brian Whary of Colorado and Eric Lance Whary of Montana.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents Elvin and Marion Whary.
Services will be private.

 Esther Trujillo of Corpus Christi, Texas died May 14, 2012. She was 58.
She was born on April 18, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Epifanio and Guadalupe Ocon Trujillo. Esther was a retired hairdresser for 20 years formerly employed with WalMart in Calallen, Texas.

 Juanita M. Perales passed from this life on April 26, 2012 and is in Heaven today with her Savior Jesus Christ. She was 91. Juanita was born in Odem, Texas on September 26, 1920 to Cecilio and Maria Gonzales Martinez. She spent most of her life in Odem, Texas. She was a nurse employed with Dr. A.H. Voss for more than 20 years, often interpreting for Spanish speaking patients. Juanita was a devoted wife to her husband, Jose, and a loving mother and grandmother to her children. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista and a strong Christian woman who dedicated her life to serving the Lord through women’s ministry, teaching Sunday school, preparing food for the ill, and faithfully praying for children. Although Juanita had no formal education, she was nonetheless wise, smart and gifted.
