    Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne (Cantu) Hickel in in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of the late Charlie Sr. and Guadalupe Adams Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn Moran and Brittany Hickel.

    Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Sinton – Maria M. Munoz, 49, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. She was born in Sinton, Texas on February 15, 1966 to Jose Alfredo and Leonarda (Vega) Galindo. Maria was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas and a licensed cosmetologist for more than 30 years. She was most recently employed by Robstown ISD at St. Anthony School as a Teacher-Parent Liaison.   Preceding Maria in death is her father: Jose Alfredo Galindo; mother: Leonarda Vega Hernandez; sisters: Amelia Murillo and Maria Paz; brother: George Janas; friend Rosie Suarez.

Sinton – Pastor Reynaldo O. Rodriguez, 68, passed away April 21, 2015. He was born in Sinton, Texas on November 3, 1946 to Pablo and Herminia (Arismendez) Rodriguez. Pastor Reynaldo was a Senior Pastor at Iglesia Nuevo Pacto for 15 years, a church he and wife Eva Rodriguez founded together. He was also a former truck driver. Pastor Reynaldo proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Odem – Calixtro Bargas Serda, Jr., 68, passed away April 18, 2015. He was born in Robstown, Texas on July 30, 1946 to Calixtro and Maria (Bargas) Serda. Calixtro was a self-employed carpenter/painter and a lifelong resident of Odem, Texas. Calixtro is preceded in death by his wife: Beatrice Acosta Serda; son: Javier Serda; parents Calixtro and Maria Serda; sister and brother-in-law: Frances and Everett Burk, Jr.

Odem-Virginia T. Chapa entered eternal rest to be with her Heavenly Father on April 18, 2015 at her home in Odem, Texas. She entered Heaven's gates on her 87th birthday to celebrate with her granddaughter Valerie Alyss; son-in-law, Alan; brothers Juan and Ruben; sisters May and MaryLou; and mother Lydia, who preceded her in death.

Ann Marlene Hopperstead Noakes, 77, passed away April 13, 2015 in Sinton, TX after a long illness.  Ann was born in the Village of Princeton, MN, on June 29, 1937 to Ingvald Johanne and Rose Amelia Hilken Hopperstead.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Edmond Noakes III: her parents; her brothers; Fredrick Alan and Conrad Orville Hopperstead; and her sister, Joan Bonita Clayton.
