  Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

  Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Villarreal, Robe G.Robe G. Villarreal, a lifelong Sinton resident currently residing in Houston, Texas passed away July 31, 2008 in a Houston hospital.  He was 49.

Survivors include his mother and step-father: Aurora and Cruz Quintero of Houston; a son: Dwight, of Ennis, Texas; a daughter: April, of Louisiana; a brother: Andy (JoAnn) Villarreal of Lancaster, Texas; 6 sisters: Diana Martinez, Norine Sanchez and Tillie Guerra, all of Sinton; Sylvia Wood, Virginia Villarreal and Jaquie Martinez, all of Ennis, Texas; 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Robe is preceded in death by his father, Juan P. Villarreal, and brother, Raul Villarreal.

Narvaez, Leonor “Nona”Leonor “Nona” Narvaez, a homemaker and lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, in a local hospital.  She was 86.

Survivors include one son: Ruben (Janie) Narvaez; one daughter: A. Diana (Valerio Jr.) Cancino, all of Sinton, Texas; 3 brothers: Sisto Rodriguez of Sinton, Texas, Santos “Tino” Rodriguez of Los Angeles, California, and Domingo Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas; one beloved sister who was her best friend: Juana Rodriguez of Sinton, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Nona had numerous nieces and nephews who were all special to their “Pretty Tia”.  She was the kind of “Tia” we all wanted for our children.  She was the GREATEST Grandma in the county who always had time to listen, and listened with the most sincere kindness. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her faithful four-legged companion, “Shelly”.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvaro Narvaez, and son, Noe Narvaez.

Martinez, Rodrigo “Roy”Rodrigo “Roy” Martinez passed away June 29, 2008. He was 51.

Survivors include two brothers; Manuel Davila of Gregory, Texas, and Martin Martinez of Taft, Texas; two sisters; Maria L. Gutierrez of Taft, Texas, and Hilda Rodriguez of Sinton, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy’s parents Julian and Maria delaLuz Navarro Martinez precede him in death.

Nino, Ramiro G.Ramiro G. Nino, a retired self-employed general contractor of more than 40 years, passed away, June 26, 2008. He was 71.

Formerly of Joliet, Illinois, Ramiro spent most of his years in Sinton. He was born to Jose and Maria Nino on July 12, 1936, in Sinton.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carmel Nino of  Sinton, Texas; a son: Michael (Belinda) Nino of Odem, Texas; a daughter: Christine Nino of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother: Maria Nino of  Odem, Texas; six brothers:  Amador (Lillie) Nino of San Antonio, Texas, Joe (Lupe) Nino of Freeport, Texas, Roberto (Elisa) Nino of Illinois, Johnny (Rosa) Nino, and David (Isabel) Nino, all of Odem, Texas, Richard Nino of Houston, Texas; three sisters: Amelia Chapa, and Doralisa (Felix) Andrade, all of Odem, Texas, and Ruby Dunlap of Sinton, Texas; one grandchild, Michael Anthony Nino, of Odem, Texas.

Ramiro is preceded in death by his father, Jose Nino.
