  Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, Arkansas.
Burial followed at Dunkard Cemetery in Austin, Arkansas.

Narvaez, Ruben R.Ruben R. Narvaez, 61, passed away June 12, 2010 in Sinton, Texas  with his family by his side.

Ruben was born April 29, 1949 in Sinton, Texas to Albaro and Leonor Rodriguez Narvaez. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas and worked mostly as a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife Juanita M. Narvaez of Sinton, Texas; two sons: Brent Collins (Anna) of Orange Grove, Texas and Nathan Narvaez (Chrissy) of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters: Louisa Narvaez and April Narvaez of Sinton, Texas; one sister: Diana Cancino of Sinton, Texas; mother-in-law: Nestora Martinez of Sinton, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Ruben’s parents precede him in death.

Luciano “Chano” Vega, Sr. passed away June 5, 2010 with his family by his side. He was 77.

Luciano was born December 13, 1932 in Sinton, Texas to Saturnino and Guadalupe Vasquez Vega. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas. Luciano was a retired backhoe operator formerly employed by G & S Materials of Rockport, Texas.

Survivors include his wife Rosita Vega of Sinton, TX, five sons: Rolando B. Vega of Sinton, TX, Juan B. (Janie) Vega of Lubbock, TX, Luciano Vega, Jr. of Aransas Pass, TX, Henry (Laura) Vega of Stamford, TX and Wally Vega of Austin, TX; two daughters: Mary Louise (Pascual) Martinez of Sinton, TX and Rosie (David) Garza of Lubbock, TX; two brothers: Juan V. Vega and Joe Vega, both of San Angelo, TX; five sisters: Antonia Murillo of Lubbock, TX, Lucinda V. Perez of Louise, TX, Estefana Gomez of Sinton, TX, Mary Gomez of McKinney, TX and Gloria Martinez of Houston, TX; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death are his parents; a son Gilbert Vega; two sisters: Leonarda V. Hernandez and Anita V. Flores.

Hilario “Larry” Gutierrez, of Taft, Texas passed away in Arizona on May 18, 2010. He was 51.

Larry was born on October 10, 1958 in Sinton, TX to Adolfo and Ramona Hinojosa Gutierrez. Larry served his country in the United States Army. He spent most of his life in Taft, TX and resided in Arizona for fourteen years.

Survivors include his mother Ramona Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, TX; two sons: Hilario Gutierrez, Jr. and Eugene Gutierrez, both of Arizona; five brothers: Adolfo (Carol) Gutierrez of Abilene, TX, Roy (Olivia) Gutierrez and Joe (Diana) Gutierrez, both of Houston, TX, Billy (Josie) Gutierrez and Albert Gutierrez, both of Corpus Christi, TX; six sisters; Rosa Gutierrez (Ramon) of Abilene, TX, Lupe Gutierrez of Sinton, TX, Marta (Joe) Cruz of Taft, TX, Gloria (Joe) Muniz of New York, Irma Gutierrez and Debra Gutierrez, both of Corpus Christi, TX; three grandchildren: Anthony Gutierrez, Naomi Gutierrez and Hilario Gutierrez, all of Arizona.

Preceding in death is his father, Adolfo Gutierrez.

Gomez, Servando  A.Servando  A. Gomez of Odem, Texas passed away peacefully in the loving presence of his wife and all his children on May 7, 2010.   Servando was born  December 16, 1926 in La Vernia, Texas to Jesus and Aurelia Gomez. Servando was a very interesting man who showed interest in everything and everyone surrounding him. He was a very gracious, gentle and loving man.  Servando enjoyed the sport of boxing and sitting outside listening to music.  But most of all, he enjoyed spending much of his time with his beloved children.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Minerva Gomez, and together had three children, Servando A.  Gomez of Odem, Texas, Matthew Gomez of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Gomez of Houston, Texas.   He is also survived by his children Servando Gomez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Graciela Rodriguez of Taft, Texas, Criselda Figueroa of Corpus Christi, Texas, Israel Gomez of Odem, Texas, Aurelia Moya of St. Paul, Minnesota, Ramon Pruneda of Odem, Texas, Joe Pruneda of Corpus Christi, Texas, Diana Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Eddie Pruneda of Cedar Park, Texas; one brother, Jesus Gomez of Weslaco, Texas; 32 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
