  Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

  Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Survivors include her husband, Juan Martin Cavazos of Sinton; both parents, Ricardo Vallero, of McAllen, her mother, Sylvia Saldivar, of Sinton; two sons, Juan Martin Cavazos, Jr. and Arnold Daniel Cavazos; three daughters Crystal Lynne Cavazos, Alice Marie Cavazos, and Monica Monique Cavazos; two brothers, Francisco Javier Garza and Roland Garza; two sisters, Maxi G. Saldivar and Eusebia G. Saldivar; maternal grandmother, Justa Medina, all of Sinton; and a mother-in-law, Irene Cavazos, of Ft. Worth.

Cano, Jose T.Jose T. Cano, a self-employed carpenter and landscaper, passed away November 3, 2007. He was 76.

    Survivors include his wife, Maria Cano of Sinton; three sons, Jose J. Cano, of Taft, Francisco J. (Sonia) Cano and Antonio J. Cano, both of California; one daughter, Susana (Joey) Larman of Gaithersburg, Maryland; and 11 grandchildren, Ruben Cano, Ricardo Cano, Michael Cano, Ashley Cano, Annette Cano, Amy Cano, Antonio Cano, James Cano, Aaron Cano, Kimberlyn Larman and Selena Larman.

Soto, Anastacia PerezAnastacia Perez Soto, a homemaker and lifelong resident of St. Paul, passed away October 11, 2007. She was 72.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Guadalupe and Adelaida Perez, her husband, Pedro Soto, a son, Benito Soto, and a daughter, Sylvia Sanchez.
Survivors include five sons: Pedro (Chris) Soto, Jr. of Mathis, Jesse and Israel Soto, both of Sinton, Fernando (Mirtha) and Raymundo Soto, both of Dallas, eight daughters: Margaret Rodriguez  and Ana Soto of Victoria, Paula (Arthur) Castaneda of Papalote, Olga (Rene) Cantu, Connie Soto, and Alice (Mike) Moody of Sinton, Ofelia (John) Garcia of Huntsville, and Yolanda (Genaro)Arismendez of Harlingen, five brothers: Domingo (Celestina) Perez of Taft, Augustine  (Esther) Perez of Little Field, Jose (Cruz) Perez, Oscar Perez and Juan Chavez, all of Sinton, eleven sisters: Simona (Santos) Aguirre of Woodsboro, Estella Almager and Elida (David) Osornio, both of Levelland, Alicia (Librado) Ramos of Aransas Pass, Amalia Gomez, Abelia (Jesse) Morataya, and Lupita (Tony) Andrade, all of Sinton, Adela (Abel) Trevino of Odem, Maria (Adolfo) Gonzales, Susan (Rogelio) Franco, and Sylvia (Tony) Fuentes, all of Garland, 34 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Lydia Alvarez of Harlingen; one son, Rene Tovar of St. Paul; three daughters, Betty (Herbert) Glory of Ingleside, Alice (Joe) Nunez of Sinton, and Cindy Tovar, of St. Paul; six brothers, Dionicio (Mary) Alvarez of Ohio, Manuel Alvarez Jr. and Robert Alvarez, both of Houston, Carlos (Sandra) Alvarez of Corpus Christi, Jesse (Emma) Alvarez and Pablo Alvarez both of  Harlingen; four sisters, Aurora (Jerry) Norris of Indiana, Oralia (Greg) Downen of Denver, Colorado, Lydia Trevino and Connie (Paul) Gonzales, both of San Benito; and eight grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Manuel Alvarez.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita A.
