  Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

  Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Molina, Ruben A.Ruben A. Molina, 52, of Sinton died September 29, 2009.

He was born June 7, 1957 in Sinton to Ramon and Petra Aleman Molina.  He was a mechanic.

Preceding him in death are his father Ramon Molina, brothers Juan and Daniel Molina, and sister Ramona Cardenas.

Survivors include two sons: Jeffery (Becky) Molina of Sinton and Ruben “Kramer” (Tanya) Molina of Taft; daughter: Jennifer Molina (Ray) of Robstown; his mother: Petra Molina of Sinton; brothers Polo (Elia) Molina of Banquete and Roland (Angie) Ybarra of Robstown; sisters: Minnie (Pete) Barrios of Sinton, Sylvia (Rene) Mata of St.Paul, and Linda (Eliseo) Saldivas of Taft; and 12 grandchildren.

Mamie Frances Cross, a homemaker, died September 30, 2009.  She was 100.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Leslie Cross and daughter, Betty Maxwell.
Burial Services will be held in Tulsa, OK and will be announced at a later date.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Hartung of St. Paul and Wanda Clary of Foyil, OK; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ortiz, Lucas LeeLucas Lee Ortiz of Alice, 22, a former member of the US Army National Guard Reserve and graduate of Agua Dulce High School, died Sunday, September 27, 2009.

Preceding him in death is his paternal grandfather, Arcadio Ortiz, Sr.

Visitation will begin Thursday, 11 am, Resthaven Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10 am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Sinton with burial in Taft Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Casey Lee Montes, Ricky Rivera, Jessie Nino, Jr., John Paul Anthony Longoria, Johnny Milton Nino and Jonathan Nino.

Gonzales, RafaelRafael Gonzales, a lifelong farm hand, passed away at his residence with his family at his side on September 2, 2009. He was 63.

Ralph was born on April 6, 1946 in Odem, Texas to Daniel and Maria Gonzales. He was currently living in Sinton, Texas.

Survivors include three sons: Rafael Gonzales, Jr. (Erlinda), Richard Gonzales (Denise) and Eddie Gonzales (Michelle), all of Sinton, Texas; three daughters: Rachael Gonzales of Bryan, Texas, Rita Ramirez (Lee) of Sinton, Texas and Ruby Anne Gonzales of Dickinson, Texas; 2 brothers: Leonardo Gonzales (Mary) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Enrique Gonzales (Beninga) of Taft, Texas; six sisters: Anita Rodriguez of St. Paul, Texas, Margarita Cardenas of Corpus Christi, Texas, Virginia Casarez, Mary Jasso (Joe) and Jovita Lopez (Frank), of Sinton, Texas and Ofelia Morales of Victoria, Texas; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death are his parents and three brothers; Daniel Jr., Benny and Jimmy.

Donald Long, an electrician for more than thirty years, passed away September 1, 2009. He was 66.

Donald was born to Alton and Velna Long in Raleigh, NC on November 3, 1942.

Survivors include his wife: Mary A. Long of Ingleside, Texas; one son: Donnie Long, II of Phoenix, AZ; one step-son: Jay Brown of Phoenix, AZ; one brother: Jimmy Dale Long of Leland, NC; one sister: Marylin Riker of Yorbalinda, CA
