  Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

    Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Henry Roland and Sylvia Gonzales; great-grandmother, Emma Lopez; two uncles, Henry Roland Gonzales, Jr. and Christopher Ryan Gonzales, all of Sinton.

      Survivors include her husband, Domingo Rivas, her parents, Felipe and Oralia Castillo, all of Sinton; three step-sons, Domingo (Marty) Rivas, Jr., Joe (Julie) Rivas, both of Houston, and Johnny (Tillie) Rivas of Sinton; five step- daughters, Aurora (Joe) Simmons, Mary Lou Lopez, Irma (Juan) Olivares, all of Houston, Sylvia (Darrell) Hesseltine, and Virginia (Jessie) Zapata, both of Sinton; four brothers, Juan Manuel Castillo, III, of Houston, Eloy (Linda) Martinez, Steve (Jennifer) Martinez, and Felipe Castillo, Jr., all of Sinton; four sisters, Sabina (Randy) Richter, Lupita Gonzales, Olivia (Danny) Lira, all of Sinton, and Julie Gonzales of Houston; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; eleven nephews, Pete Anthony (Erica) Gonzales, Michael Ruiz, Brandon Garcia, Brian Richter, Randal Richter, Oscar Martinez, Marcus Reyna, and Gregory Joe Lira, all of Sinton, Jeovanni Gonazales, Alec Gonzales, and Julian Armand Gonzales of Houston; eight nieces, Dionicia Martinez, Ashley Ann Martinez, Tori Martinez, Hope Martinez, all of Sinton, Jennifer Gonzales, Jaclyn Gonzales, Jessica Gonzales, and Julissa Gonzales, all of Houston.

      Survivors include her mother, Petra A. (Pepe) Molina of Sinton; two sons, Charlie Garcia and Jessie Garcia; one daughter, Angie Garcia all of Portland, Oregon; three brothers, Polo (Elia) Molina of Banquete, Ruben Molina of Sinton, Roland (Angie) Ybarra of Robstown; three sisters, Minnie (Pete) Barrios) of Sinton, Sylvia (Rene) Mata of St. Paul, and Linda (Eliseo) Saldivar of Taft; and 12 grandchildren.

Trevino, Elvira AlmanzaElvira Almanza Trevino, 72, passed away August 29, 2007.

Mrs. Trevino was born in Fulshear, Texas to Jose and Pauline Almanza on May 30, 1935. She owned and operated E & T Taxi Service for more than ten years. She was a Catholic and a resident of Sinton for thirty years.
A rosary was held Friday, August 31, at 7:00 PM. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 1, 9:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton with Father Paul Rajareegam officiating. Burial followed at Eternal Rest Cemetery.

Emilio “Mito” Alvarado, a retired city employee in San Marcos, passed away August 18, 2007, at the age of 88. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Alvarado of Mineral Wells, Texas, Emilio Alvarado, Jr. of San Jose, Ca., Jose Alvarado of Round Rock, Texas; two daughters, Mary Lou Zapata of Plano, Texas, and Maria Serna of Sinton, Texas;
12 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited Monday, August 20, 2007, at 7:00 PM. Services will be Tuesday, August 21, 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. Burial will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton.
