Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Candido Vela Gonzales passed away peacefully at his residence in Skidmore, Texas on December 1, 2011 with his loving family by his side. He was 88 years old. Candido was born in Kingsville, Texas to Rafael and Teresa Vela Gonzales on December 15, 1922. Candido was a Supervisor employed by Champlin Refinery in Corpus Christi for more than 30 years before retiring.

 Maria del Carmen Mayorga Jimenez (Turner) Rodriguez has gone home to be with our Heavenly Father at the age of 83 on Monday, November 28, 2011, as a result of complications from a stroke earlier this year. Carmen passed away gently at home surrounded by her loved ones. Carmen was a long-time resident of Kingsville, TX, lived in Nacogdoches, TX for over a year and in later years made her home in Sinton, TX. She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Joseph’s Church in Corpus Christi, and a member of the choir at St. Anthony’s Church and St. Mary’s Mission in Robstown.

 Bernard Francis “Bill” Featherling, left this life to be with Jesus; his wife Sibyl Lou McMinn; his parents Francis Robert and Cora Ellen West Featherling; Grandparents Robert Lee and Agnes Gregorczyk West, all of Papalote, Texas, on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11:35 AM. He was 87 years young. Bill was born at the R.L. West homeplace, Papalote, Texas on November 17, 1924. He graduated Papalote Elementary School and Corpus Christi College Academy before being drafted April 26, 1943 to the US Navy, CB, Construction Battalion preparing the beach for Marine landing at Iwo Jima.
