Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes. Patricia Ruth (Cave) Teltschik died peacefully on October 20, 2011. Pat, as she was known by all, was born to Katherine and Alfred Cave, Sr. on April 28, 1938. Pat was born on the Cave Farm in Bishop, Texas. Pat married Norman Teltschik on May 25, 1957. They moved to Sinton, Texas where they raised their family. Pat was employed by the Texas Department of Public Safety in Sinton as a Driver License Technician for 26 years. Shortly after retirement, Pat and Norman moved to Lake Mathis to enjoy their golden years. Pat was loved by her family and friends.

Mr. Julian “Shorty” Carranza, Sr., 66, of Sinton, Texas died October 19, 2011 at his sister’s home surrounded by family and friends. He was born January 28, 1945 in Sinton, Texas to the late Ruben and Aurora Lamas Carranza. He was one of six siblings. Julian was a volunteer Firemanin Crosbyton, Texas. He was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years most recently with Cornell Carriers LLC.

Modesta “Molly” Constante Medina, 52, died October 4, 2011. Molly was born in Mathis, Texas on June 15, 1959 to Martin Sr. and Julia Molina Constante. Molly spent most of her life as a resident of Odem but made Victoria, Texas her home for the past ten years. She was employed by Gierling Home Health as a home health provider for more than 20 years.

Antonio Lopez went home to be with our Lord on October 1, 2011. He was 87.
Antonio was born on February 10, 1924 in Mexico to Guadalupe and Demencia Lopez. Antonio served his country in the United States Army and fought in WWII. Antonio believed in helping his fellow man and received "Donor of the Year" many times for his time and devotion with the Hospitalized Veterans. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton and a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Antonio was a retired crane operator but stayed very busy after retirement working as a courier for Commercial State Bank and for the United States Post Office simultaneously.

Guadalupe Alaniz died September 21, 2011. He was 77. Lupe was born in Yorktown, Texas on February 10, 1934 to Jose and Victoria Garcia Alaniz. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton and spent most of his adult life in construction working for both H & K Construction and Tennessee Pipeline.
Survivors include his wife, Simona Cavazos Alaniz of Sinton, Texas; daughters Maria Alaniz Contreras (James) and Mary Jane Alaniz Davila both of Sinton, Texas and Elsa Alaniz Valencia of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother Felix Alaniz of Sinton, Texas; sisters Virginia Alaniz Chapa and Elodia Alaniz Garcia both of Sinton, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
