  Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

  Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Fuentes, Pablo A. Sr. Pablo A. Fuentes, Sr. a farmer and lifelong resident of Taft, passed away September 27, 2007. He was 65.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita A. Fuentes; four sons, Robert Fuentes, Ramiro Fuentes, and Rudy Fuentes, all of Taft, and Pablo Fuentes, Jr. of Aransas Pass; two daughters, Nora Amaya of Taft, and Ermelinda Passaron of Houston; one brother, Santos Fuentes of Taft; three sisters; Juanita Ortiz of Lubbock, Estefana Rios of Taft, and Maricella Carrasco of Charlotte, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 16 greast-grandchildren.

Garza, AnitaMrs. Anita Garza, 63, went to be with her Lord on September 21, 2007.  She was born June 6, 1944 in Sinton, Texas to Jesus and Cruz Olivarez Chapa.  Anita Chapa married Alonzo M. Garza on May 22, 1967.  She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Odem. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Alonzo Garza of Odem; two sons, Alonzo (Dalia) Garza, Jr. of Corpus Christi and Abel (Belinda) Garza of Kingsville;  two daughters, Annette (Danny) Serda of Odem and April (Jason) Sprigman of New York; 3 brothers, Frank (Virginia) Chapa of Odem, Tomas (Lillie) Chapa of Corpus Christi, Benito (Mary Lou) Chapa of Illinois; 6 sisters, Jesusa (Jesus) Aranda of Illinois, Leonor Garcia and Mary (Jesus) Corona, both of Houston, Alicia (Reymundo) Sanchez of Odem, Eva (Robert) Garcia of Conroe and Rosemary (David) Cabrera of Edroy;  6 grandchildren, DJ and Brianna Serda, Alonzo III and Alex Garza, Samuel and Astrid Sprigman.  Her parents, a brother, Esteban Chapa, and nieces Esmeralda Chapa Goraski and Valerie Garcia precede her in death.
