Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Luis Antero Gonzales Jr., 35, passed from this life to the next August 19, 2011. Luis was born in Sinton, Texas to Luis and Esperanza Reyna Gonzales.
Survivors include four daughters: Marisol May Gonzales, Mercedes Mai Gonzales, Marisabel Mya Gonzales and Marissa Mia Gonzales, all of Corpus Christi, TX; his parents, Luis and Esperanza "Hope" Gonzales of Sinton, Texas; a brother: Aaron Gonzales of Corpus Christi, TX; a sister: Elaine Gonzales of San Diego, California; and paternal grandfather: Alfredo Gonzales of Sinton, TX.

 With her beloved niece Nelda Zapata, Sinton’s own Esperanza "Hope" Ruiz entered the house of eternal rest and glory on Sunday, August 7, 2011. She extended her hand so the two of them could guide each other into Heaven. Esperanza was born on June 17, 1946 in Odem, Texas to Jose Jr. and Juana Muniz Ruiz. She was a lifelong resident of Sinton and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton.

 Together with her much loved aunt, Esperanza "Hope" Ruiz, our beloved Nelda Jean Zapata entered God’s house of eternal rest and glory on Sunday, August 7, 2011. For those of us who knew and loved her best, Nelda filled our hearts and home with her kind heart and lovable nature. Nelda was born July 12, 1969 in Sinton, TX to Luis Abelardo and Consuelo Ruiz Zapata. She was a lifelong resident of Sinton.

 Josue Antonio Gomez, 21, passed from this life to the next August 1, 2011. Josue was born in Weslaco, Texas to Jesus Maria Gomez and Victorina Sarazua Gomez. He spent most of his youth in Odem, Texas, but made Corpus Christi, Texas his home for the past four years. Josue had a love for life and family. His family was his family, and so were the friends he called family. You held a special place in Josue’s heart if he called you brother, sister or cousin. Even though Josue was quiet and soft-spoken, he had a magnetic personality. His smile could brighten any day.

 Robert Lee Reddell (Bob) 83, of Sinton, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in Pasadena, Texas.
Bob was born April 27, 1928 to Roy and Norma Henning Reddell in Rockdale, Texas. Most of his childhood was spent in Rockdale and in McAllister, Oklahoma. After finishing school in McAllister, he attended Arlington State College and then Arkansas A & M where he graduated. After college, Bob worked in Port Arthur as a District Scout Executive for the Mustang District, Gulf Coast Council of Boy Scouts.
