  Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

  Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Leroy was a carpenter and construction worker who was employed by Goodman Enterprises for most of his life.

He was born on May 25, 1948 in Baytown, Texas to Eugene and Frances Hollaway Hayes, Sr.   Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Hayes of Sinton, TX; three sons: Billy Joe Hayes of Sweeny, TX, Harlen (Kelly) Hayes of Tacoma, Washington, Corbett “Corey” (Emily) Eugene Hayes of San Antonio, TX; daughter: Tamra “Tami” Jelliene Hayes of Corpus Christi, TX; six grandchildren: William Hayes, Kami Hudgeons, Karisa Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Ian Hayes and David Jason Garcia, one great-grandchild; Rayeghan Hudgeons Daughter-in-law: Wendy Hayes of Bay City, TX Preceded in death by: mother Frances Hollaway Hayes, granddaughter; Emagyn Riley Hayes, great-grandson; Cameron Hudgeons, and mother-in-law; Maurine Hayes

Aranda, Jesusa Chapa

2011018_1.jpgOn Wednesday, April 20, 2011 Jesusa Chapa Aranda went home to be with the Lord. She passed peacefully at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Jesus Aranda and mother of Eric Aranda and Rosemary Cabrera. Jesusa was married in Odem, Texas and celebrated her 55 year wedding anniversary August 19, 2010. She was born in Sinton, Texas on March 13, 1925. Jesusa grew up in Odem and made the North Aurora, IL area her home the last 51 years. Jesusa was a good, giving and loving wife and a kind, caring and loving mother. Her laughter, her love and her tamales were great gifts to us all. She will be deeply missed.

He was a resident of Odem, Texas his entire life. Gilberto was a retired construction worker formerly employed with H & K Construction for 40 years.
