Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes. Rebecca Betz Massie, 62, died April 13, 2011. Rebecca was born on July 20, 1948 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Charles and Bonnie Carmean Betz. She was a native of Vero Beach, Florida for 23 years but made Sinton her home for the past 18 months.
Survivors include her husband Robert Massie of Sinton, TX,; her parents Charles and Bonnie Betz of Vero Beach, FL., daughters Denise Olmeda of Sinton, TX and Janet Berryhill of Vero Beach, FL, a brother David Betz of Vero Beach, FL, and a grandchild Juliette Olmeda, Preceding in death is a brother Casey Betz.
All Services will be private.

 Natividad Ramirez, Jr. 40, died April 11, 2011. He was born on August 31, 1970 in Sinton, Texas to Odelia R. Rodriguez-Garcia and Natividad Ramirez, Sr. Natividad was 1988 graduate of Sinton High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served a tour in Desert Storm. He furthering his education at UT Galveston and graduated with a bachelor’s degree then earned his Physicians Assistant Degree at Pan America University. He was currently employed McAllen Primary Care Clinic where he worked as a P.A.

 Our loving mother and beloved Sinton educator Betty Gayle Chafin passed away Tuesday April 5, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born Betty Gayle Tidwell on November 2, 1930 in Sinton, Texas, she was a lifelong resident of Sinton, leaving only for a short time to Kingsville, Texas during elementary school and again after graduating from Sinton High School in 1948 to attend Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. On July 15th, 1950, she returned to Sinton and married Olin “Fats” Chafin, a young Sinton football coach. Together they started a family that would grow to include four sons, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

 Antonio L. Sandoval died April 1, 2011. He was 82. Antonio was born on October 5, 1928, in Burlington, Texas to Bonifacio and Jesusa Lopez Sandoval. A lifetime resident of Taft, Antonio owned and operated Sandoval Wrecker Service and was a retired truck driver.
