Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes. After fighting a long and difficult battle with heart surgery complications, Abbie Sandoval died Tuesday evening January 17, 2012. She was surrounded by family and friends at Christopher Hospice Care Center in Austin, Texas. This remarkable woman with a heart as big as Texas was born in Beeville, Texas to Bernardo and Maria (Buentello) Sandoval on June 10, 1928. Abbie worked for many years at the historic Welder Ranch in Sinton, Texas. She raised four children and often held two jobs to support her family. In addition to raising and supporting four children, she found time to attend evening classes and received her GED diploma at the young age of 55.

Calvin Ray Fagan, born May 5, 1929 in Old Glory, Texas, passed away at home Monday, January 16th 2012. Calvin married JoAnn Lane on September 5, 1948 in Snton, Texas.
After high school, Calvin served in the U.S. Army before returning to Sinton to resume farming in the West Sinton area. He farmed in the Sinton area for over 65 years. Calvin served on the Board of Directors of Sinton Electric Co-Op for a number of years before accepting a position as manager of the Co-Op. He retired from that position in 1999 after 10 years of service. He is a past President of the Odem Kiwanis Club and the San Patricio County Farm Bureau.

Josias Cruz Franco, Jr., 67, died January 15, 2012. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 16, 1944 to Josias Sr. and Anita Cruz Franco. Josias lived in Houston and Alice, Texas before coming to Sinton where he resided for the past year. He was a truck driver employed with Koch Refinery for most of his adult life.

Elodia “Simona” Molina, a homemaker, died January 9, 2012. She was 83. Simona was born on February 28, 1928 in Wiley, Texas to Francisco and Otilia Loa Rodriguez.
Survivors include her sons: Agapito Molina and Salvador Molina, Jr.; daughters: Rosa Ramos and Maria Esther Garcia, all of Sinton, Texas; brothers: Rosendo Molina of Gregory, Texas, Rosalio L. Molina and Ricardo Molina; and sisters: Dominga Ortiz and Diana Quilimaco, all of Sinton, Texas.

Manuel Luis Guzman, 37, died December 19, 2011. Manuel was born in Taft, Texas on February 19, 1974 to Manuel and Juanita Ramirez Gutierrez. Manuel spent most of his life in Sinton but moved to Houston, Texas five years ago.
