Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes. Petra Martinez Castro, a homemaker, passed away at home with her family by her side on June 30, 2010. She was 74.
Born on August 1, 1935 in Odem, Texas to Tobias and Anita Castaneda Martinez, Petra spent most of her life in Sinton, Texas.
Survivors include four sons: Plutarco (Norma) Castro of Kingsville, TX, Domingo Castro of Florida, Edward Castro of Corpus Christi, TX, and Ricardo (Melissa) Castro of Corpus Christi, TX; two daughters: Petra (Donald) Davies of Sinton, TX and Blanca (Tony) Rogers of Ingleside, TX; one brother, Emilio Martinez of Brownfield, TX; two sisters: Nikki Cruz of Brownfield, TX and Maria Ramirez of Altus, OK; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Petra is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Roy Castro.

Mario Cruz DeLaRosa, a resident of Woodsboro, TX, passed away June 25, 2010. He was an electrician employed by Service Junction Inc. He was 47.
Survivors include two sons: Gustavo Cruz DeLaRosa and Ryan Andres Cruz DeLaRosa: a stepson, Steven McDuffie: a stepdaughter, Danielle Slade, all of Eustis, FL; four brothers: Cruz DeLaRosa of Bellview, FL, Manuel D. Cruz of Houston, TX, Jose Cruz DeLaRosa of Webster, FL, and Alberto Cruz DeLaRosa of Houston, TX; two sisters: Aquilina Cruz DeLaRosa of Monterrey, Mexico and Rosalinda Cruz of Matamorros, Mexico; and two grandchildren.
Preceding in death is a son, Antonio Cruz DeLaRosa.
All services will be private.

Dylan Gage Garcia, infant son born to Anthony and Diana Cruz Garcia of Odem, Texas, passed away June 27, 2010.
Survivors include his parents; maternal grandparents, Rosalinda and Jesus Gomez of Corpus Christi, TX; paternal grandmother Gloria Garcia of Odem, TX; three brothers: Dominic Anthony Garcia, Damien Joe Garcia and Evan Nunez, all of Odem, TX; two sisters: Sierra Nunez and Destiny Cruz both of Odem, TX.
Preceding in death is his paternal grandfather Joe Garcia.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 10:00 AM at San Pedro Cemetery of Odem, TX with Father Shaji Varghese as celebrant.

He is survived by his mother Laurel H. Carnes of Austin, Arkansas.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, Arkansas.
Burial followed at Dunkard Cemetery in Austin, Arkansas.

 Ruben R. Narvaez, 61, passed away June 12, 2010 in Sinton, Texas with his family by his side.
Ruben was born April 29, 1949 in Sinton, Texas to Albaro and Leonor Rodriguez Narvaez. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas and worked mostly as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife Juanita M. Narvaez of Sinton, Texas; two sons: Brent Collins (Anna) of Orange Grove, Texas and Nathan Narvaez (Chrissy) of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters: Louisa Narvaez and April Narvaez of Sinton, Texas; one sister: Diana Cancino of Sinton, Texas; mother-in-law: Nestora Martinez of Sinton, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
Ruben’s parents precede him in death.
