Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes. Angelita “Chavela” Tovar, a homemaker, passed away January 12, 2010. She was 90.
Chavela was born on October 2, 1919 in El Capote, Tamps, Mexico to Francisco and Maria del Refugio Alvarado Torres. She was a resident of St. Paul, Texas for 53 years.
Survivors include four sons: Ponce (Yolanda) Tovar, Ruben (Margarita) Tovar and Lee (Carmel) Tovar, all of Sinton, Texas; Martin Tovar of Baytown, Texas; two daughters: Ida (Lupe) Alaniz of Sweetwater, Texas and Sandy (Don) Pierce of Sinton, Texas; three sisters: Julia Loya, Francisca Garcia and Dolores Vasquez, all of Raymondville, Texas; 39 grandchildren and over 100 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death is her husband Gregorio Tovar; her parents; a son Ramon Tovar and a daughter Linda Gonzales.

William "Bill" Goldman passed away on January 10, 2010 in Sinton, Texas with his loving family at his side. He was 61.
Bill was born to Luther Earl and Billie Nell Goldman on March 4, 1948 in Poteet, Texas. A former resident of Calallen, Texas, Bill resided in Sinton, Texas for the past eleven years. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of VFW in Robstown, Texas. Having worked as a production technician for Koch Refinery, Bill retired after 25 years of faithful service. His favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting.
Bill leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Carlane McDonald Goldman of Sinton, Texas. Other survivors include his mother: Billie Taylor of Jourdanton, TX; one son: Billy (Emily) Goldman of Calallen, TX; two daughters: Karen Goldman of Orange Grove, TX and Jennifer (Woody) Atwood of Calallen, TX; one brother: Timmy (Trisha) Taylor of Jourdanton, TX; two sisters: Donna (Sug) Riley of Somerset, TX and Carla (Royce) McCarthy of Poteet, TX; nine grandchildren: Amanda Goldman, Audrey (Daniel) Pena, Kimber-Lea Atwood, Taylor Goldman, Cydni Cochran, Erin Goldman, Bradley Cochran, Karrigan Atwood and William Atwood; his mother-in-law Dorothy McDonald of Poteet, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Preceding in death is his father Luther Earl Goldman; stepfather Jim Taylor; brother Dennis Goldman; and father-in-law Bill McDonald.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Goldman, Ronnie McCarthy, Kody Taylor, John Blaylock, Taylor Wymer, Norman Parker, Robby Hesseltine and Sean McGinnis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch Roper, Ervin Menn and Jimmy Reeves.

Trina Cantu Padilla, a homemaker, passed away on January 4, 2010. She was 86.
Trina was born May 27, 1923 to Antonio and Ignacia Cantu in Lyford, Texas. She lived in Raymondville, Texas before residing in Corpus Christi, Texas since 1952.
Survivors include a son: Frank C. Padilla of Grand Prairie, Texas; 1 daughter: Nellie (Dario) Encinia of Sinton, Texas; 2 brothers; Fabio (Toni) Cantu of San Antonio and Ralph (Valerie) Garcia of Joshua, Texas; one sister: Hilda (Rudy) Vera of Edinburg, Texas; ten grandchildren: Gloria, Maria Trinidad, Dario (Jessica), Celestina, Monica, Christina, David and Daniel Encinia, Rene (Monica) and David Valls; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death are her husband Francisco “Pancho” Padilla; her parents; a son Gilbert Padilla; a stepdaughter Rachel Valls; a brother Abel Cantu; and sisters Eloisa Bernal and Esmeralda Rosales.

Born to Jose and Manuela Garza on May 1, 1932 in Woodsboro, TX, Felipa was a lifelong resident of Sinton, TX.
Survivors include seven sons: Luis Ramirez of Corpus Christi, TX, Lolo (Gene) Hernandez and Epifanio (Yvonne) Garcia Jr. both of Taft, TX, Arturo (Lisa) Garcia of Dallas, TX, Adan (Melissa) Garcia of Corpus Christi, TX, Blas (Norma) Garcia and Rey (Diana) Garcia, both of Sinton, TX; four daughters: Martina (Juan) Mendoza, Eva (Rey) Rodriguez, Gloria (Roger) Hernandez and Janie Garcia, all of Sinton, Tx.; one sister: Celia Hernandez of Taft, TX. Preceding in death is her husband Epifanio Garcia, Sr.; two brothers: Jose Garcia and Julian Rodriguez; and a sister, Marta Rodriguez; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Born on August 27, 1923 in Runge, Texas to Juan and Emilia Perez, Juanita spent most of her life in Sinton, Texas.
Survivors include three daughters: Olga (Adam) Sanchez of Garland, TX, Olivia DeLeon of Sinton, TX, and Margaret Morfin of San Jose, CA; two sisters: Lilia Perez and Alicia Bustillo, both of Sinton, TX; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are her parents; a sister: Luisa Gonzales; four sons: Joe, Baltimore, Salvador and Gilbert Garcia.
