Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Roberto Chavez Alaniz, 82, passed away January 16, 2011 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born January 10, 1929 in Alice, Texas to Gorgonio and Sixta Chaves Alanis. Roberto worked for numerous employers in the oilfield industry more than 25 years.

Richard Alan Davis passed away January 12, 2011. He was 57.
Richard was born on March 11, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Donald E. and Melba L. Davis. He made Sinton, Texas his home for 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Amanda; a brother, Rod Davis of Stephenville, Texas; and a sister, Deborah Davis of Maui, Hawaii.
All services will be private.

Bruce B. Smith, a crop duster pilot, passed away January 11, 2011. He was 84.
Bruce was born on October 9, 1926 in Sinton, Texas to Alberteen and Mantie Duncan Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas.
Survivors include two sisters: Lois Brown of Corpus Christi, Texas and Lola Waters of Kerrville, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service was held January 17, 2011, 1:00 PM, at Taft Memorial Park Cemetery in Taft, Texas with Brother Larry Mayo officiating.
