Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.

Jesus P. Moreno, 75, passed away October 19, at his residence in Sinton with his loving family by his side.Jesus was born in Crystal City on January 4, 1935, to Dolores and Ponciana Perez Moreno. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton where he was a self-employed painter and
owner of his business: Moreno & Son. Jesus married Elida Soto on March 26, 1956. Together they raised a family and dedicated their lives to their children and grandchildren.Survivors include his wife: Elida Moreno of Sinton; two sons: Jesus Jr. (Doris) Moreno of Sinton and Mario S. (Cecilia) Moreno of Cypress; a daughter: Irma M. (Gilbert) Guerra of Sinton; five brothers: Jose P. Moreno, Esequiel Moreno, Juan Moreno, Ruben Moreno and Fernando Moreno, all of Sinton; eight sisters: Guadalupe Tamez of Sinton; Soledad Viacabo of Donna; Gloria Garcia of Ralls; Rosa Martinez of Beeville; Esperanza Arduijo of Alvin; Isabel Cantu of Kingsville; Amalia Morris of Pasadena and Maclovia Moreno of Sinton; grandchildren: Stephanie Moreno Ramirez, Jimmy Moreno, Jennifer Guerra, Nikki Guerra, Kat Moreno, Christina Moreno and Kristian Moreno; great grandchildren: Andrew Austin Cantu and Caleb Moreno; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Moreno is preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 21 at Resthaven Funeral Home,
Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass
will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 22 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in
Sinton, with Father Shaji Varghese as celebrant. Burial will follow at Eternal Rest
Cemetery in Sinton. Services entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.

Juan Luna, 66, passed away October 19 in Corpus Christi.
Juan was born in Odem on September 24, 1944 to Francisco and Rosa Garcia Luna. Hewas formerly employed by H & K Construction as a pipe fitter. Survivors include his wife: Juana Luna of Odem; four sons: Juan Francisco Luna, Joe David Luna, Jason Luna and Juan Luna, Jr., all of Odem; one daughter: Laura Jane Luna of Corpus Christi; five brothers: Ricardo Luna, Angel Luna, Robert Luna, Jessie Luna and Leroy Luna, all of Odem; six sisters: Maria Luna and Vicky Torres, both of Odem;
Janie Cardenas of Sinton; Frances Rangel and Rosalinda Flores, both of Robstown; and Jessica Luna of Austin; mother-in-law: Beatrice Garcia of Del Rio, grandsons: Raul Naranjo and Javier Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Luna is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbarita Luna.
Visitation was held at I p.m. on Wednesday, October 20 at Resthaven Funeral Home,
Sinton. A rosary was held the same evening at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odem,
with Father Pete Elizardo as celebrant. Burial will follow at San Pedro Cemetery in
Odem. Services entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home.

Maria Estella Flores, a life long resident of Sinton, Texas passed away October 11, 2010. She was 61. Maria was born March 12, 1949 to Juan and Maria Martinez Torrez. She was a Dietician employed by Riverside Nursing Home in Calallen, Texas for thirteen years.
Survivors include her husband Jose Flores, Sr. of Sinton, TX; three sons: Jose Manuel Flores, Jr. and Ezequiel Flores (Jessica), both of Sinton, TX and Benito Gonzales of Houston, TX; two daughters: Olivia Flores and Juanita Gonzales, both of Sinton, TX; two brothers; Isaac (Angie) Torrez of Corpus Christi, TX and Juan M. (Vicky) Torrez of Sinton, TX; one sister: Rosie (Freddie) Garcia of Corsicana, TX; and five grandchildren. Preceding in death are her parents; a daughter Sandra Flores, and a brother Jose Manuel “Meme” Torrez.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, October 13, 2010, 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton, TX. A rosary will be held Thursday, October 14, 2010, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 15, 2010, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton, TX with Father Francisco Lopez as celebrant. Burial will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton, TX.

Theresa “Terry” Ludwig of Papalote, Texas passed away peacefully October 5, 2010 with her family by her side. She was 84.Terry was born in Bronx, New York August 25, 1926 to Albert and Mary Giordano Mango. Terry was married to her companion and best friend, Vernen, for 64 years. She was employed as Manager of Food Service at Chase Field Naval Base in Beeville more than 15 years; she worked as a cashier at a local grocery store, worked long hours in a restaurant, yet still managed to be a homemaker and loving Mother to her children. Terry served as Chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary Post #8625 in Papalote and was a lifetime member. She never lost her zest for life nor devotion to her family. Terry is survived by her husband, Vernen, of Papalote, Texas; sons Richard Ludwig and William (Natalie) Ludwig, both of New Mexico; daughters Carol (Wayne) Siepmann of Portland, Texas and Kathy (Servando) Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas; brothers Sonny and Ralph Mango, both of New York; sisters Rose (Fuzzy) Fortino of Pearl River, NY and Elizabeth Carter of California, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Terry is preceded in death by her parents; a grandson Daniel Braglia; brothers Mike Mango and Louis Mango; and sisters Anna Massagli, Virginia Dannucci, Lola Nagel, Mary Papa and Grace Papa.
