Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne Cantu-Moran in March 2007. Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991. Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Yvonne is the daughter of Guadalupe Cantu and the late Charlie Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn and Brittany.
Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes. Ruven “Ruben” Diaz passed away September 5, 2010 in Taft, Texas. He was 53.
Ruben was born February 25, 1957 to Nasario and Manuela Rodriguez Diaz in Cannstatt, Germany. He lived in Corpus Christi, Texas a few years, but lived most of his life in Taft, Texas. Ruben was formerly employed as a Chemist Assistant for Valero Refinery.

Joe M. “Harry” Esparza passed away September 5, 2010 after a short illness. He was 66.
Joe was born on September 24, 1943 in Sinton, Texas to Eustaquio and Francisca Garcia Esparza. He was a former mechanic and gas station attendant and a lifelong resident of Sinton.

Thomas Debs “Mac” McIntyre, a resident of Taft, Texas for more than 40 years, passed away peacefully August 29, 2010 with family by his side. He was 76.
Mac was born in Victoria, Texas to John and Madeline Cheek McIntyre on June 4, 1934. He was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Navy. Mac was a refinery worker formerly employed with Coastal States Refinery for 31 years.
Survivors include his wife Josie Suarez McIntyre of Taft, TX; a son Michael Blankenship of San Antonio, TX; seven daughters: Kelly McIntyre (Raymond) Cavazos of Victoria, TX, Kimberly McIntyre Hensley of Victoria, Texas, Lauri McIntyre (Ryan) Pipkin of Pace, FL, Diana Blankenship of Angleton, TX, Christina Blankenship Carreon of Dallas, TX, Melissa Blankenship Hardeman of Dallas, TX and Mary Blankenship Morrison of Leander, TX; two sisters: Madeline (Charles) Slack of Wisconsin and Peg Kern of Nacogdoches, TX; 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mac is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John Henry McIntyre and Jim McIntyre; and his first wife; Virgie Jennings McIntyre.

Dimas Juan Castillo, Sr. passed away August 28, 2010. He was 59.
Born on March 26, 1951 in Taft, Texas to Narciso and Antonia Berlanga Castillo, Sr., Dimas was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. Dimas was a welder and construction worker employed with Horton Automatics for 15 years.
Survivors include former wife Christy Castillo of Taft, TX; a son: Dimas Juan Castillo, Jr. of Taft, Texas; three daughters: Matilde Marie Castillo and Marlena Castillo, both of Taft, TX and Crystal Rose of San Antonio, TX; two brothers: Jesse Ramon Castillo and Bernardo Castillo, both of Corpus Christi, TX; four sisters: Trinidad Hernandez and Maria Garza, both of Taft, TX, Rosalinda Moreno of Bastrop, TX and Margarita Saldana of Taft, TX; two grandchildren: Zachary Dimas Graves and James Darin Graves.
Preceding in death are his parents and a brother, Narciso Castillo, Jr.

He was born in Robstown, Texas on June 28, 1922 to Florentino and Juanita Rodriguez Escobedo, and was currently living in Sinton, Texas. Fernando was a mechanic formerly employed by Kelly AFB.
Survivors include his wife Carmel Alaniz Escobedo of Sinton, TX; a son: Frank Escobedo of corpus Christi, TX; two step-sons: Jimmie Alaniz of Sinton, TX and Henry Alaniz of George West, TX; two step-daughters: Gracie Alaniz Gonzales of Sinton, Tx and Josie Alaniz Rodriguez of Kyle, TX; a brother Johnny Escobedo of Corpus Christi, TX; two sisters: Josefina Cisneros of Corpus Christi, TX and Francisca Gonzalez of Plainview, TX; numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are two brothers; Margarito and Florentino Escobedo.
