2012082_1.jpgRonnie E. Molina died December 11, 2012. He was 43.  Ronnie was born on October 6, 1969 in Sinton, Texas to Armando and Emma Elizardo Molina. He was a C & C operator employed with Gulf Coast Machinery for more than 20 years. Ronnie lived in Houston, Texas, but spent most of his life in Sinton, Texas.

Survivors include his mother: Emma Molina of Sinton, Texas; son: Brandon Molina (Ashley Bearden) of Houston, Texas; daughter: Bethany Molina of South Dakota; brother: Ralph (Jennifer) Molina of Deer Park, Texas; sister: Roseanne Molina (Roger Gonzales) of Austin, Texas; and grandchild: Gabriel Armando Molina.

Preceding Ronnie in death is his father, Armando Molina, and brothers Ricky Molina and Rodolfo "Rudy" Molina.

Neas, Martha Dean

Martha Dean Neas passed away December 5, 2012. She was 90. Martha was born on March 11, 1922 to Fredrick and Blanche (Blanton) Carpenter. She was a resident of Mathis, Texas for three years and a former resident of Sinton, Texas. Martha was a bookkeeper more than 40 years and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Taft, Texas.

Survivors include a son, Edwin (Nanene) Neas of Nunn, CO; a daughter, LaShea (Pat) Koliba of Sinton, Texas; and a sister, Margaret (Bob) Crabtree of Arkansas City, KS; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, John E. Neas, precedes in death.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton, Texas. A private funeral service and private burial will be held Monday, December 10, 2012.

2012081_1.jpgA visitation for Mary Louise Scull Morton, 94, of Lufkin was held Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carroway Funeral home. A visitation will be held Friday, December 7, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral home in Sinton, Texas. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas.

Mrs. Morton was born May 29, 1918 near Odem in San Patricio County, Texas to the late Wimmiam Flournoy and Blanche (Routt) Scull, and passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Lufkin. Mrs. Morton was devoted to her family, and she loved her friends. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and dominos player. Her positive outlook and sunny disposition were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a wonderful wife, mom, and "Nanny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morton enjoyed meeting the public, and she held a number of retail jobs over the years, beginning in Odem when she worked for her family’s grocery business starting before she was a teenager. She worked for Foley’s Department Store in Houston for 13 years beginning in the 1960s. In the late 1970s she moved to Lufkin, where she worked for many years for her daughter Joann Roquemore at Wishing Well Antiques & Gifts.

2012080_1.jpgOlivia A. Castillo died December 1, 2012. She was 91. Olivia was born in Sinton, Texas on December 28, 1920 to Tomas and Angelita (Garza) Arismendez. She was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas and a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons: Felipe A. Jr. (Oralia) Castillo and Jesse (Alice) Castillo, both of Sinton, Texas; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death are her parents; husband Felipe T. Castillo; sons Raulito and Dionicio Castillo; and daughter Alicia Castillo.

Visitation began Sunday, December 2, 2012, 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a holy rosary at 7:00 PM.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, December 3, 2012, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton with Father Patrick Serna as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton. Pallbearers will be Steve Martinez, Eloy Martinez, Jimmy Alaniz, Jonathon Alaniz, Randall Richter and Pete Anthony Gonzales.

Harris, Bobby Jean Hall Spurlock

2012079_1.jpgBobby Jean Hall Spurlock Harris Born on February 27, 1931 at home in West Sinton, Texas, Bobby Jean, an identical twin, lived a beautiful life of 81 years. She attended school at West Sinton and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948. She was married to J.L. Spurlock for 50 years and they raised 5 children. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Love Oil Tools and Mobil Oil Corporation. Most of her life was devoted to caring for her family and friends. Bobby Jean married a second time to Albert G. Harris of Corpus Christi on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, April 21, 2008. The quaint Methodist church located on a sugar cane field was the start of over four beautiful years together at their home in Corpus Christi. They were members of the First United Methodist Church, active participants in the Jennie Hill Cooper Class and the Carousel Theatre Group. She was an excellent seamstress, an avid sports fanatic for the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, San Antonio Spurs, and to all of her beloved children and grandchildren. She was the core of her family, always wore her beautiful smile, had the gentlest touch, and was forever our eternal optimist.
