Martinez of Sinton, Texas; mother: Josefa Gonzales of Sinton, Texas; sons: Jesse, Jr. (Adyna Medina) Cantu of Corpus Christi, Texas, Casey (Danielle) Montez of Gregory, Texas and Johnny Rey Cantu of Sinton, Texas; daughters: Josie Cantu of Aransas Pass, Texas and Bianca Rocha of Indiana; brother: Juan Gonzales of Sinton, Texas; sisters: Lucy Aleman of Sinton, Texas, Lupita (Albert) Garcia of Georgia, Maria (Jose) Martinez of Houston, Texas and Paula (Zeke) Gamez of Sinton, Texas; father-in-law: Juan Garcia of Sinton, Texas; and numerous grandchildren.

Heltzel, Carrol Morris

Carrol was born February 9, 1938 to Clement and Beatrice Morris in Allegan, Michigan.  She was a homemaker and had previously owned her own bait business. Carol resided in Odem since 1991 and had previously lived in Corpus Christi.

Gomez, Rafael "Ralph" Jr.

2013043_1.jpgRafael (known to friends as Masa or Ralph) Gomez passed away on June 11, 2013 after a sudden illness. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Ralph was born in Sinton, Texas on May 1, 1948 to Rafael and Nicolasa Gomez. He attended Sinton schools and graduated in May 1967. He attended Bee County College and worked for H&K Construction as a Welder, helper and driver. He later attended welding school and worked as both a welder and pipefitter for various companies and refineries. He then earned his QC/AC certification and worked for Repcon Inc. for the past 14 years. His work as an inspector often took him offshore or out of state, even as far as the North Slope of Alaska. He worked hard and played hard.  He always had a story to share, a joke to tell or advice about life. He never met a stranger and wouldn’t hesitate to give you the shirt off his back.
