Prater, Jessie Don

Jessie Don Prater, a self-employed mechanic for many years, passed away June 3, 2009. He was 29. Jessie was born on December 24, 1979 to Gerald and Gloria Prater in Beeville, Texas. Formerly of Charlotte, Texas, Jessie made Taft, Texas his home for the last fifteen years. Survivors include his mother: Gloria Prater of Taft, Texas; two brothers: Christian (Jessica Cancino) Prater of Victoria, Texas and Gerald Martinez of Taft, Texas; three sisters: Mary (Dan) Faragosa of Calallen, Texas, Elizabeth (Roger) Prater of Corpus Christi, Texas and Holly (Michael) Prater of Taft, Texas; former wife: Terry Torres of Ingleside, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding Jessie in death is his father: Gerald D. Prater; his brother: Jonathan Lee; maternal grandparents: Jose and Maria Martinez; paternal grandparents; Gerald and Vernie Prater. Visitation was Saturday, June 6, 2009, 10:00 AM, with a prayer service that evening Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton, Texas. Graveside services were held at 4:00 PM, Monday, June 8, 2009 at Trinity Memorial Park Cemetery in Big Spring, Texas. Pallbearers were Christian Prater, Gerald Martinez, Christopher Dobbins, Timothy Rendon, Daniel Faragosa, Joseph Alfaro and Benito Rodriguez. Services entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.
