Gomez, Evangelina Perez

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Evangelina Perez Gomez, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2009. She was 85. Evangelina was born on October 19, 1923 to Vicente and Victoria Perez in Pettus, Texas. She made Sinton, Texas her home for more than 50 years. Evangelina always welcomed everyone into her home.  Her uncanny smile, witty sense of humor, and sweet personality made everyone want to be around her.  She was very proud of her children, and adored her children’s children. Evangelina was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton, a  member of the Sinton Food Pantry and a Crusillista. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories and life’s lessons her four sons: Armando (Esther) Gomez of Beeville, Texas, Alfredo (Judy) Gomez, Arturo (Susan) Gomez, both of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Arnold (Leticia Villa) Gomez of Portland, Texas; one daughter: Alicia (George) Brown of Beeville, Texas; one brother: Vicente Perez, Jr. of Elmendorf, Texas; three sisters: Lydia Perez and Janie Loya, both of Beaumont, Texas and Tina Wilson of Cleburne, Texas; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Preceding her in death are her husband: Antonio Gomez; a son: Antonio Gomez, Jr.; her parents: Vicente and Victoria Perez; and a brother: Adan Perez. Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 12 noon, with a 7:00 PM rosary at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 10, 2009, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton, with Father Joseph Lopez as celebrant. Burial to follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
