Cobb, Terrell BlantonTerrell Blanton Cobb, of Portland, Texas, passed away December 30, 2009 at the age of 87.
He was born December 23, 1922 in Gonzales, Texas to Aquilla and Sara Cobb, and was raised in the Gonzales area.
After serving his country in the United States Army, Terrell began farming in the Sinton area.  He attended night school to learn about fertilizers, herbicides and irrigation.  He was a devoted and conscientious farmer for nearly 40 years.
Terrell was a giving person who was best known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.  Terrell is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Mildred, of Portland, Texas.
Terrell had a favorite poem that he learned in grade school and that he could still recite in his later years: "And if I should live to be the last leaf upon the tree; In the spring, let them smile, as I do now, at the old forsaken bough where I cling." (by Oliver Wendell Holmes).
A special thanks to our friend, Debbie Miller of Sinton, Texas, for her continuous love, care and support for me and Terrell over the years.
Private burial services will follow at a later date. Services entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.
