Rosalinda E. Casanova, a homemaker, passed away April 16, 2010 with her family at her side. She was 56.

Rosalinda was born on April 16, 1954 in Taft, TX to Reynaldo and Petra Castillo Elizondo. Sinton was her home for the last thirteen years.

Survivors include her father Jose R. Tijerina of Taft, TX; four sons: Albert (Kayla) Casanova of Pawhuska, OK, Guadalupe (Marisa) Valdez of Taft, TX, Benny (Julie) Valdez of Aransas Pass, TX and Joe Manuel Castillo of Sinton, TX; three daughters: Diana Casanova, Patricia (Miguel) Manzano and Cindy (Francisco) Valdez, all of Sinton, TX; three brothers: Joaquin (Mary Esther) Carrera of Spring, TX, Agapito (Lucia) Carrera and Alfredo (Rachel) Balderas both of Taft, TX; three sisters: San Juana (Fernando) Soto of Pearland, TX, Rosario Sanchez of Ingleside, TX and Angelita Tijerina of Taft, TX; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death is her mother Petra Tijerina.

Pallbearers are Miguel Manzano, Steve Carrera, Juan Castillo, Erica Gonzalez, Janie Garcia, Fernando Soto, Freddie Martinez and Alfredo Balderra.

Visitation began Sunday, April 18, 2010, 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary was held that evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, April 19, 2010, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton, with Father Shaji Varghese as celebrant. Burial followed at Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
