Jimmy Ray Cordova, a 5-year resident of Victoria, Texas and former resident of Sinton, Texas, passed away September 25, 2010. He was 44. Jimmy was born in Sinton, Texas March 12, 1966 to Jimmy and Irma Barbosa Cordova. He was employed by Pioneer Oilfield Services in Victoria, Texas. Jimmy was passionate about his family, his work, fishing, the Dallas Cowboys and his wife, Ana. Though taken from us much too soon, Jimmy will always live in our hearts and memories. He gave us words to live by and strength to carry on.
Survivors include his wife Ana Cordova of Victoria, Texas; parents Jimmy and Irma Cordova of Sinton, Texas; two daughters: Herlinda Barrios Mendoza (Tony) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Erlinda Barrios Gonzales (Teo) of Sinton, Texas; three sisters: Tommie Cordova (D’Avona) and Rachel Guerrero (Chris), both of Sinton, Texas and Yolanda Hines (Roy) of Las Vegas, NV; 3 grandchildren: Dominique Barrios, Dezarae Gonzales and TJ Gonzales; father-in-law Joe Hernandez, Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jimmy is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Juanita Olvera; paternal grandparents Jose and Tomasita Cordova and mother-in-law Santos Hernandez.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 8:30 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton, Texas with Father Paul Rajareegam as celebrant. Burial will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton, Texas. Pallbearers will be Paul Vargas, Carl Cordova, James Cordova, Julio Chica, Isidro Montelongo and Carlos Lopez.
