Julia V. Rivera passed away on November 12, 2010 with family at her side. She was 71.
Julia was born on September 1, 1939 in Robstown, Texas to Juan and Elisa Martinez Valadez.

Survivors include her husband: Samuel Rivera of Taft, TX; three sons: Dagoberto Rivera of Mission, TX, Humberto Rivera of Laredo, TX and Rigoberto (Lori) Rivera of Austin, TX.; five daughters: Doralinda Rivera of Austin, TX, Ermalinda (Frank) Pena of The Woodlands, TX, Amanda (Jose) Garcia of Austin, TX, Arleen (Gabriel) Galvan of Portland, TX and Eileen Rivera of Taft, TX; a brother: Juan Jr. (Santos) Valadez of Florida; a sister: Estella (Juan) Aguinaga of Grand Prairie, TX; ten grandchildren: Joel Rivera, Sebastian Rivera, Lauren Rivera, Evan Rivera, Gabryella Rivera, Elias Rivera, Gavin Galvan, Cadence Galvan, Jaymen Galvan and Joseph Garcia.  Preceding in death is a son: Bobby Rivera.
Visitation began Sunday, November 14, 2010, 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A rosary was held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, November 15, 2010, 1:00 PM at The Immaculate Conception Church in Taft, Texas with Father Francisco Lopez as celebrant. Burial followed at Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft, Texas.
