Calvin Ray Fagan, born May 5, 1929 in Old Glory, Texas, passed away at home Monday, January 16th 2012. Calvin married JoAnn Lane on September 5, 1948 in Snton, Texas.
After high school, Calvin served in the U.S. Army before returning to Sinton to resume farming in the West Sinton area. He farmed in the Sinton area for over 65 years. Calvin served on the Board of Directors of Sinton Electric Co-Op for a number of years before accepting a position as manager of the Co-Op. He retired from that position in 1999 after 10 years of service. He is a past President of the Odem Kiwanis Club and the San Patricio County Farm Bureau.
Calvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, JoAnn Lane Fagan, son Gary Lane Fagan (Elizabeth), daughter Brenda Gayl Mullinix (Mark), and sister Delle Fagan Mayo. He has 4 grandchildren; Brent Mullinix (Victoria), Brittany Mullinix Scheefer (Chris), Wesley Fagan (Taryn) and Erin Fagan (Cheston Bilbo) and 9 great grandchildren; Blake, Derek, Bryson and Brylee Mullinix; Landen and Trenton Fagan; and Bliss, Laci and Cade Scheefer. Calvin is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Roy Rentz and Lavester and Ethel Fagan. Calvin will be remembered for the warm smile he greeted everyone with, and his willingness to serve his community. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember his warmth, love and kindness. He took a special interest in each grandchild, spending many hours enjoying shared activities.
Graveside services will be held at the Sinton cemetery at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Exclusive Home Health and Hospice in Beeville, Texas, the Odem Church of Christ or other charity of your choice.
