Survivors include: wife, Betty Seebeck Ramirez of Sinton, Texas; 3 sons: Gilbert (Angie) Ramirez Jr., Portland, Texas, Marcus (Sunshine) Ramirez , League City, Texas, Thomas (Becky) Bryant of Valier, Ill; 3 daughters: Roxana (Adam) Saenz , St. Paul, Texas, Jessica (Hector) Castillo , Pearland, Texas, Denise (Robert) Compton, New Braunfels, Texas; 4 brothers: Felipe (Mary) Ramirez Jr., Daniel (Teena) Ramirez, Juan Antonio (Raquel) Ramirez, all of Portland, Texas; Estevan (Ruth) Ramirez of Gonzales, Texas; 2 sisters: Maria (Ted) Cortez, Odilia (Mario) Solis, both of Portland, Texas; mother, Ester Ramirez of Portland, Texas; his father, Felipe L. Ramirez, a wife, Adriana Garza Ramirez, and brother, Ruben Ramirez, precede him in death.

Gilberto Ochoa Ramirez Sr., 66, of Sinton, Texas, formerly of Portland, Texas, died Friday, August 3, 2007 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1941 to Felipe L. and Esther Ochoa Ramirez in Portland, Texas. He was employed by Corpus Christi Army Depot, Division Chief Transmission Department for 36 years before his retirement. Mr. Ramirez was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church in Portland, Texas, a member of Knights of Columbus, Federal Aviation Association and Ultralight Instructor.
