Bucky W. Franklin, a safety coordinator for the Sherwin Alumina Plant in Gregory, Texas, passed away December 4, 2007. He was 61.

Mr. Franklin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sinton, a member of Masonic Lodge #1012, a past City Council Member, past President for the Sinton Little League and Sports Boosters. He was also a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Franklin, of Sinton; one son, Neil (Natasha) Taylor, of Los Fresnos, Texas; two daughters, Lauria (Gary) Franklin Kelley and Shara (Karl) Franklin Unruh, both of Sinton; two brothers, Bob (Geneva) Franklin, of Lake Texoma, and Eugene (Janet) Franklin, of Henrietta, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Allyssa Kelley, Ross Kelley, Courtney Taylor, Abigail Kelley, Jakob Unruh, Bailey Taylor, Madelyn Unruh, and Cody Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:00 AM, at The First United Methodist Church, Sinton, with Pastor Margaret Decker officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary contributions be made to the Shriner’s Hospital in Houston, Texas or The First United Methodist Church in Sinton, Texas in Bucky’s memory.
