Donald George Havelka of Corpus Christi passed away December 9, 2007 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born December 14, 1951 to Louis and Earlene Havelka. He was born and raised in Sinton, Texas and after graduating from Sinton High School, he began a career as an electrician. He was currently employed with H.B. Zachary. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but is best known for his ability ability to repair, improvise or invent anything.

He is preceded in death by his father Louis Havelka. He is survived by his mother Earlene Havelka of Sinton, brother Mike (Sherry) Havelka of Mathis, sister Debbie (Robert) Miller of Sinton, and sister Diane Havelka of Corpus Christi, nieces and nephews.

Visitation began Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at 2:00 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. A rosary followed at 6:30 PM, Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 12, 2007, 2:00 PM, at Sacred Heart Church, Sinton, with Father Seamus McGowan as celebrant. Burial to follow at the Sinton Cemetery.
