James Edward Cox went to the Lord on Friday, January 18, 2008. James left this world exactly how he wanted to-alongside his horses.

James was born to Joe and Evangeline Cox on August 3, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas.

A Sinton resident, James was employed by the Rob & Bessie Welder Wildlife Foundation as a Ranch and Operations Foreman for 33 years. James was a member of The First United Methodist Church, was Big in 4H and was leader for 10 years, Show Chairperson of  the A & H horse show, San Patricio leader with youth horse shows, and President for seven years of the San Patricio Riding & Roping Club.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Cox, of Sinton, Texas; his mother Evangeline Johnson, of San Antonio, Texas; a son, Kevin Cox and a daughter, Melanie Cox, both of Sinton, Texas; a dear brother-in-law, Mark Haug; a mother-in-law, Corene Haug, both of Robstown, Texas; and one grand daughter, Ariana Cox of San Antonio, Texas.

James is preceded in death by his father Joe Cox and father-in-law Alton Haug.

 

A Memorial Service will be held January 20, 2008, 2:00 PM, at The First United Methodist Church in Sinton, Texas, with a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions can be made to the San Patricio County Riding & Roping Club’s Scholarship Fund in James’ name or Methodist Mission Home in San Antonio or First United Methodist Church in Sinton.
