LongoriaPete Longoria, a Corpus Christi resident of 28 years, passed away, peacefully, Tuesday, February 19, 2008 after a brief illness. His family was at his side.

Pete was born to Pedro D. and Refugia Tobar Longoria on October 28, 1945 in Sinton, Texas.  He was 62 years old.

Pete was a well-respected and well-known insurance salesman employed by American National Insurance Company for 32 years. He was a three-time recipient of the “Executive Eagle”, American National’s top award, and a 27-time recipient of the “President’s Club Award”, an award presented to the company’s top salesman.  Pete was a member of the Army National Guard, a former Lion’s Club member, and a member of SS Cyril & Methodius Church.

Survivors include his wife: Melba Longoria of Corpus Christi; a son: Pedro III (Patricia) Longoria of Austin; two daughters: Veronica (Daniel) Espinoza and Velma (Marcos) Salinas, all of Corpus Christi; two sisters: Elena Longoria and Victoria (Manuel) Chica, all of Sinton; in-laws: Manuel and Maria Garza of Mathis; 7 granddaughters; 3 step-grandchildren. 


Visitation will begin Thursday, February 21, 2008, 12 noon, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton.  A rosary will be recited Thursday, February 21, 2008, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 22, 2008, 12 noon, at SS Cyril & Methodius Church in Corpus Christi with Monsignor Lawrence E. White as celebrant.  Mr. Longoria will lie in state, at the church, Friday, February 22, 2008, beginning at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park and Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
