Nicanor Gonzales, Sr., a former resident of Sinton, Texas most of his life, currently living in San Diego, California, passed away April 9, 2008. He was 82.

Nicanor was born to Juan and Elena Gonzales on April 18, 1925 in Odem, Texas. He was a WWII veteran who proudly served his country in the US Navy. Nicanor was a supervising distributor employed by Pearl Distributing Co. 35 years.

Survivors include his wife: Virginia Gonzales of Corpus Christi, Texas; a son: Nick (Lucy) Gonzales, Jr. of Jamul, California; three daughters: Lillie Sosa Gonzales of Austin, Texas, Amber (Rick) Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Alma (Ruben) Rodriguez of Houston, Texas; thirteen grandchildren: Bonnie Gonzales, Nicanor Gonzales, III, Gabriel Gonzales, Chris Sosa, Amber Sosa, Brandon Sosa, Nicole Martinez, Erin Martinez, Sandra Longoria, Sammy Longoria, Ruben Rodriguez, Desiree Ramirez and Jack Ramirez; one Great-grandson.

A son, Norman Gonzales, precedes his father in death.

Visitation will begin Friday, April 18, 2008, 10:00 AM, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas. A rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 19, 2008, 11:00 AM, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton, Texas. Burial to follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton, Texas.
