Leonor “Nona” Narvaez, a homemaker and lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, in a local hospital.  She was 86.

Survivors include one son: Ruben (Janie) Narvaez; one daughter: A. Diana (Valerio Jr.) Cancino, all of Sinton, Texas; 3 brothers: Sisto Rodriguez of Sinton, Texas, Santos “Tino” Rodriguez of Los Angeles, California, and Domingo Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas; one beloved sister who was her best friend: Juana Rodriguez of Sinton, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Nona had numerous nieces and nephews who were all special to their “Pretty Tia”.  She was the kind of “Tia” we all wanted for our children.  She was the GREATEST Grandma in the county who always had time to listen, and listened with the most sincere kindness. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her faithful four-legged companion, “Shelly”.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvaro Narvaez, and son, Noe Narvaez.

Visitation began Saturday and will continue Sunday, July 6, 2008, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton, Texas.  A rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 7, 2008, 10:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton.  Burial will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton.
