Robert G. Rodriguez, a lifelong resident of Odem, Texas, passed away August 23, 2008 with his loving family at his side.  He was 52.

Robert was born to Cruz and Nila Rodriguez August 4, 1956 in Odem, Texas. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odem, Texas and a Boy Scout Leader.  He coached his son’s Little League basketball and baseball teams.  Robert was a devoted Odem Owls fan, and the Number One Fan of his children.  He was a former Industrial Painter employed by Gulf Marine, PPM and Oxy-Chem for over 15 years. 

Survivors include his wife: Hilda Martinez Rodriguez of Odem, Texas; 1 daughter: Veronica (Johnny Moreno) Rodriguez of Odem, Texas; two sons: Robby Jr. and Ryan Rodriguez, both of Odem, Texas; his mother: Nila Rodriguez of Odem, Texas; 3 brothers: Cruz (Irene) Rodriguez and Lupe (Alma) Rodriguez, all of Odem, Texas, Rodrigo (Sylvia) Rodriguez of Mathis, Texas; 2 sisters: Diana (Joe) Hastings of Corpus Christi, Texas, Clemencia Garcia of Odem, Texas; 1 granddaughter: Dezirae Moreno of Odem, Texas; in-laws: Jesus and Juanita Martinez of Sinton, Texas; 3 brothers-in-law: Jessie (Becky) Martinez and Javier Martinez, all of Sinton, Texas, Carlos (Rachel) Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister-in-law: Delia (Eliseo) Rivas of Sinton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father, Cruz Rodriguez; a sister, Amparo Rodriguez; and uncle, Juan Rodriguez.

Visitation will begin Monday, August 25, 2008, 2:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton, Texas.  Rosary will be recited Monday and Tuesday, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 2:00 PM, at Sacred Heart Church in Odem, Texas with Father Isaias  Estepa as celebrant.  Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery in Odem, Texas.
