Tomas joined the United States Army at the age of 21. He was a veteran who proudly served his country from December 17, 1942 to November 29, 1945. He was a decorated Veteran where he served in the battles and campaigns including: Normandy Northern France Ardennes Rhineland Central Europe GO33 WD 45. He earned the EAME Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was employed by Reynolds Metals San Patricio Plant and retired with 28 ½ years of faithful service. Tomas, a devout Catholic, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Tomas is preceded in death by his loving son, Pete Quintero, and granddaughter, Keisha Quintero. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Maria M. Quintero of Sinton, Texas; sons: Ruben (Josie) Quintero of Sinton, Texas, Rene Quintero of San Antonio, Texas, Tony (Marie) Quintero of Beeville, Texas; daughter: Micki (Charlie) Gutierrez of Sinton, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin Wednesday, November 25, 2009, 11:00 AM, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas. Rosary will be held that evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 27, 2009, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton, Texas with Father Shaji Varghese as celebrant. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton, Texas. Pallbearers will be Ruben Quintero, Rene Quintero, Robert James Quintero, Tony Quintero, Joshua Quintero, Ted Quintero, Charlie Gutierrez, Steven Quintero and Micki Gutierrez. Services entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas.
