Sinton – Alonzo Murphy passed away June 17, 2016. He was 64.

Alonzo was born in Sinton, Texas on April 24, 1952 to Primus and Eddie Mae (Salone) Murphy. Alonzo was a lifelong resident of Sinton where he retired from San Patricio County Newspaper after working for 25 years as a presser. Alonzo was a veteran of the US Army.

Alonzo is preceded in death by his parents: Primus and Eddie Mae Murphy and siblings: Ivory Johnson and Primus Murphy, Jr.

Survivors include sons: Travis Murphy and Brandon Murphy, both of San Angelo, Texas; step-son: Jeremy Garza of Sinton, Texas; daughter: Jeanell Murphy of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren: Matthew Garza; Livi Murphy and Michael Murphy; brothers: Larry (Diana) Murphy of Portland, Texas; and Bennie (Melissa) Murphy of Sinton, Texas; sisters: Delois (Dennis) Duhart of Sinton, Texas and Vera (Michael) Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral service the same day, 11:00 AM at Ocean of Love Church, Sinton with Rev. Larry Murphy officiating.

Committal service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016, 11:00 AM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
