Sinton – Amelia Acosta Mires, 53, passed away November 13, 2015.

Amelia was born in Taft, Texas on December 24, 1961 to Lorenzo Sr. and Estefana (Garcia) Acosta. She was a homemaker.

Amelia is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Adolfo and San Juan Acosta; and in-laws Fred Harwood and Anne Mires.

Survivors include her husband: Barry Mires of Sinton, Texas; a son: David Mires (Cathy) of Portland, Texas; 4 brothers: Lorenzo Acosta, Jr. (Oralia) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Eddie Acosta (Elizabeth) of Portland, Texas; David Acosta ( Eva) of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Guadalupe Acosta (Kristin) of Taft, Texas; 3 sisters: Nancy Ramon (Roger) of Taft, Texas; Valerie Lopez (Albert Sr.) of Taft, Texas; Diana Martinez (Rodolfo) of San Benito, Texas; and 3 grandchildren: Sadie Mari Mires, Carolynn Acosta Mires and Cayden Acosta Mires.

Visitation will begin Monday, November 16, 2015 at 9:00 AM and continue Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Private burial services will follow.
