Sinton – Arnoldo Carreon Escamilla passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family at his side on December 29, 2017. He was 63.
Arnold was born in Sinton, Texas on September 25, 1954 to Irma (Carreon) and Arturo D. Escamilla, Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton. Arnold was a self-employed and skillful drywall/painter. He was a Vietnam-era Veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Arnold is preceded in death by his father: Arturo D. Escamilla, Jr. and sister: Annabelle Carreon.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Lou (Gonzales) Escamilla of Taft, Texas; a daughter: Rita Escamilla of Sacramento, California; sons: Michael Hamp of Michigan; Luis Alago of Michigan; Justin Grubbs and Jason Grubbs, both of Kentucky; 11 grandchildren: his mother: Irma Carreon of Sinton, Texas; brothers: Albert Garcia of Sinton, Texas; Tim Escamilla of Corpus Christi, Texas; Arturo Escamilla, III of Michigan; Roel Escamilla of Indiana; sisters: Arlene Wagner, Angie Fernandez, Norma Gonzales and Judy Castillo, of Indiana; Anna Ojeda of Florida; the aunt who raised him: Eva Escamilla of Sinton, Texas; the cousins who were more like brothers: Joe Obregon of Corpus Christi, Texas; Leo Obregon and Gilbert Guerra, all of Sinton, Texas; Michael Maldonado of San Antonio, Texas; and his former wife and mother of his children: Virginia Escamilla of Michigan.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 3, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 4, 2018, 12:00 noon at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A Graveside Service will follow the same afternoon, 2:00 PM, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Tim Escamilla, Albert Garcia, Gilbert Guerra, Leo Obregon, Joe Obregon, Michael Maldonado and Roel Escamilla.
