Corpus Christi – Bonifacio Romero, Jr. passed away September 15, 2017.  He was 68.

Bonifacio was born on October 3, 1948 in Odem, Texas to Bonifacio Romero, Sr. and Elida (Salinas) Romero.  He was a resident of Corpus Christi and a native of Odem.  Bonifacio proudly served his county in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran and earned many Medals of Honor during his time served.

Preceding Bonifacio in death are his parents: Bonifacio and Elida Romero; and brother and sister-in-law: Arturo and Beatrice Romero.

Survivors include his wife: Josefina Molina Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters: Barbara Romero Rivera (Mark) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Bobbie Jo Romero of San Antonio, Texas and Bernadine Romero (Eugenio Lopez) of Corpus Christi, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Jonathan Hatfield (Rachael LaFrancos) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Christiana Romero of San Antonio, Texas; Justin Hatfield of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mark Rivera, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Luke Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; one great-grandchild: Jax Charles Hatfield of Grand Prairie, Texas; brothers: Augustine Romero (Lydia) of Portland, Texas; Frank Romero (Tonya) of Odem, Texas; Rick Romero (Nora) of Odem, Texas and Jacob Romero (Rebecca) of Odem, Texas; sisters: Martha Kerr (Randy) of Odem, Texas; Mary Hinojosa (Tony) of Odem, Texas; Aurora Pizana (Irenio) of Odem, Texas; Lucia Casas (Juan) of Pasadena, Texas; and Yolanda Muldrow (Birch) of Laredo, Texas;

Visitation will be held Monday, September 18, 2017, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 19, at Sacred Heart Church, Odem, with Father Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Burial will follow in Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery, Corpus Christi. Time to be announced.
