Odem - Carolyn G. Ridgway, 80, passed away at her home on September 16, 2015. Carolyn was born in Odem, Texas on August 18, 1935 to Raul and Librada (Lugo) Gonzalez. She was a lifelong resident of Odem, Texas and was employed by Freddie’s Steakhouse in Sinton, Texas. She loved taking care of her family and enjoyed listening and dancing to old country music with her friends. Carolyn was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Odem and a Guadalupana.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband D.S. Ridgway; parents Raul and Librada Gonzalez; two brothers Francisco (Frank) Gonzalez and Federico (Lico) Gonzalez, and sister Maria G. Erwin.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Ridgway Perez of Odem, Texas; brothers: Raul Gonzalez (Amelia) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Jose Gonzalez of Odem, Texas and Hector Gonzalez (Nora) of Odem, Texas; sisters: Manuela Voorhees of Odem, Texas; Jesusa Brown (Jerry) of Indiana; Diana Hendrix (Jack) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Yolanda Harrison of Corpus Christi, Texas; 4 grandchildren: Carol Nicole Flores (Rick), Crystal Nia Bargas (Sonny), Robert Dee Perez and Justin Ridgway, all of Odem, Texas;  1 great-granddaughter: Iliana Nikole Flores of Odem, Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces.)

Visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Rosary will be at 7:00 PM in the chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 19, 2015, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Odem, Texas with Father Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Burial will follow in Odem Memorial Cemetery, Odem. Pallbearers will be Emilio Pena, Jr., Kenneth Alvarado, Brian Harrison, Roy Gonzalez, Jr., Noah Villarreal, Lico Gonzalez, Sonny Gonzalez and Ronnie Greathouse. Honorary pallbearers are Colleen Kemp, Michael Everett, Andrew Amaro and Lorena Gonzalez.
