Sinton – Elida Tijerina Gonzales passed away July 29, 2017 with her beloved family by her side. She was 79.

Elida was born in Sinton, Texas on December 26, 1937 to Ramon F. and Eulalia (Galvan) Tijerina. She was a lifelong resident of Odem and Sinton. Elida was a homemaker. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother.

Preceding Elida in death is her husband: Leonard Gonzales; parents: Ramon and Eulalia Tijerina; and brothers: Jose and Julio Tijerina.

Survivors include her daughter: Rosa Anna Pena (Luis) of Sinton, Texas; sons: Leonardo Gonzales, Jr. (Pauline) of Rockport, Texas and Isidro Gonzales, Sr. of Sinton, Texas; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers: Wuvenzelado “Vence” Tijerina (Oralia) of Tahoka, Texas; Johnny Tijerina (Tina) of Colorado; and Tomas Tijerina, Sr. of Trinity, Texas;

sisters: Andrea Lopez of California and Maria Edwards of Conroe, Texas.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, August 1, 2017, 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 2, 2017, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Sinton. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
