Sinton - Ernesto P. Gutierrez, 66, a resident of Mesquite for six years, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Plano, Texas. Born May 17, 1949 in Beeville, Texas, the son of Eristeo Gutierrez and Micaela Perez Gutierrez, he served in the U.S. Army. On January 4, 1971, Ernesto married Josefina Leija in Sinton, Texas. He was a supervisor at Economy Medical Rental.

Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Josefina Gutierrez of Mesquite; children, Ernesto Gutierrez and wife Mary Jane of Sinton, Melinda Gutierrez of Dallas and Richard L. Gutierrez and wife Selena of Victoria; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; brothers, Esteban Gutierrez and wife Rosa of Houston, Enrique Gutierrez of Mathis and Eligio Gutierrez and wife Martha of Mathis; sisters, Estefana Hernandez and husband Benjamin of Mathis and Elma Tamez and husband Fernando of Beeville.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2015, 1:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Family will be receiving guests from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Visitation will continue Friday, November 20, 2015, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will be Friday, 2:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
