Sinton – Henry Chance Castillo passed away April 19, 2017. He was 49.
Chance was born in Sinton, Texas on June 29, 1967 to Enrique and Graciela (Gonzales) Castillo.
Chance was currently a resident of Buda, Texas. He had lived formerly in Sinton, Austin and Beeville. He was a Sinton High School Graduate of 1985. Chance proudly served his country in The United States Navy. He had a very devoted career in law enforcement. In his short lifetime, Chance had been a police officer for the Taft and Gregory-Portland Police Departments, a prison guard for the Department of Corrections in Beeville and truant officer for West Oso High School in Corpus Christi. Chance was an EMS Paramedic for Sinton and Taft Ambulance Services and was also a volunteer fireman with the Sinton Fire Department. He earned three black belts in various martial arts. Chance was a friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed. He was truly one of the good guys.
Survivors include parents: Enrique and Gracie Castillo of Buda, Texas; brother; Micky Lee Castillo of Buda, Texas; stepsons: Marcus McLaurin of Austin, Texas; Sean McLaurin of Beeville, Texas and Joey McLaurin of Beeville, Texas; nephews: Mason Castillo of Buda, Texas and Keith Castillo of Buda, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles and extended family members.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, 5: 00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, April 23, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited Sunday, April 23, 2017, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 24, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton.
