Taft – Jimmy Montemayor passed away September 12, 2016. He was 60. Jimmy was born in Taft, Texas on August 5, 1956 to David and Inez (Flores) Montemayor. He was a Greyhound graduate from the class of 1975 and bled Green. Jimmy loved to watch his grandchildren play sports and tried to make all their games from cheerleading, football and basketball. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Taft and truly believed that God was first in all he did daily. Jimmy loved to fish and hunt with his son, grandsons, granddaughters, nephews and brothers at every opportunity He was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas and a retired maintenance mechanic formerly employed with Sherwin Alumina.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, David and Inez Montemayor and his mother-in-law, Margarita Jalomo.

Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 39 years: Sylvia Montemayor of Taft, Texas; son: Marc Montemayor (Nikole) of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter: Candace Montemayor of Taft, Texas; brothers: David Montemayor, Jr. (Margot) of Rockwall, Texas and Henry Montemayor (Alice) of Mathis, Texas; sister; Georgia Silvas (David) of Taft, Texas; father-in-law: Julio Jalomo, Jr. of Sinton, Texas; grandchildren: Mariah Montemayor; Hunter Montemayor; Gunner Montemayor; Marcus Cerda and Cara Cerda.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, September 14, 2016, 3:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 15, 2016, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
