Sinton – Jose P. Moreno passed away April 12, 2016. He was 81.

Jose was born January 4, 1935 in Crystal City, Texas to Dolores and Ponciana (Perez) Moreno.

Jose was a retired painter employed by the Texas Department of Transportation.    Upon retirement, he continued to work with his sons and their painting business. Jose was a lifelong resident of Sinton and a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather.

Jose is preceded in death by a son: Jose Moreno; a grandson: Andrew Christopher Bernal; his parents: Dolores and Ponciana Moreno; sisters: Carmen Lopez, Ignacia Castillo, Maria Moreno, Margarita Hernandez, Socorro Aguirre and Adelaida Moreno; brothers: Antonio Moreno, Jesus Moreno, Feliziano Moreno, Esequiel Moreno, Inez Moreno and Juan Moreno.

Survivors include his wife: Janie Moreno of Sinton, Texas; sons: Joe (Lupe) Moreno and Tony Moreno, all of Sinton, Texas; daughters: Norma Linda (Nasser) Zangebar of Corpus Christi, Texas; Ana (Joe) Cavazos of Grand Prairie, Texas; Nora (Roy) Guerra of Temple, Texas; Norma Linda (Larry) Bernal of Sugarland, Texas and Janette (Gabe) Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers: Ruben (Teresa) Moreno and Fernando (Sandra) Moreno; sisters: Lupe (Solomon) Tamez, Soledad (Juan) Viacobo, Gloria (Juan) Garcia, Rosa Martinez, Esperanza Arguijo, Isabel (Tony) Cantu, Amalia (Eddie) Morris and Maclovia Moreno.

Visitation will begin Friday, April 15, 2016, 11:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A holy rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 16, 2016, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton, Texas with Father Patrick Serna as celebrant. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Moreno, Mark Moreno, Joey Cavazos, Tristan Bernal, Jonathon Guerra, Christopher Guerra, Stefan Guerra, Arin Guerra and Jeremiah Moreno. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Bernal and Matthew Bernal.
