Taft – Julio S. Jalomo, Jr. passed away February 13, 2017. He was 85.
Julio was born in Taft, Texas on August 31, 1931 to Julio, Sr. and Macrina (Suarez) Jalomo. Julio proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a Korean War Veteran. He was a retired Custodian employed by Taft ISD and a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. Julio was loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Julio is preceded in death by his wife: Margarita Jalomo; parents: Julio, Sr. and Macrina Jalomo; brother: Ronnie Ray Jalomo; and son-in-law: Jimmy Montemayor.
Survivors include sons: Billie Ray Jalomo (Amelia) of Taft, Texas and Julio Jalomo, III (Maggie) of Austin, Texas; daughter: Sylvia Montemayor of Taft, Texas; brother: Valentin Jalomo (Carmen) of Houston, Texas; sister: Mabel Garcia (Mike) of Taft, Texas: 7 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Thursday, February 16, 2017, 4:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 17, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
