BMC Louis J. Jones III, US Coast Guard Retired

Louis James Jones, III of Rockport, Texas passed away peacefully into eternity surrounded by his loved ones and his beloved dog, Pepe on July 15, 2017.  Louis married the love of his life and best friend, Diana Lee Karp Jones. She went to be with her Lord and Savior February 8, 2013.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Louis James Jones, Jr., Alice Elizabeth Atkinson Jones and sister, Jean Elizabeth Wiesepapi.

Louis was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas on December 30. 1934. He served his country for twenty years in the US Coast Guard where he was stationed at many duty stations around the world including a one-year tour on the island of Yap in Micronesia. Louis also served one tour of duty in Vietnam.

Louis is survived by his son: James Thomas Jones of Lexington, Texas; and twin daughters:  Laura Sharon Jones of Rockport, Texas and Lisa Susan Brightwell and husband, Bryan of Center Point, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Rockport on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM. A Celebration of Louis’ life will follow at the fellowship hall at the church.

A graveside service will be July 25, 2017, 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Full military honors will be rendered.
