Sinton – Maria M. Torres passed away July 18, 2017 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was 79.

Maria was born November 20, 1937 to Francisco and Francisca (Vasquez) Martinez in Lubbock, Texas. She lived in Sinton most of her life. Maria was a dedicated wife and devoted Mother and Grandmother.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband: Eulalio Torres, Sr; sons: Edward Torres and Ralph Torres; granddaughter: Adalyn Gonzales; parents: Francisco and Francisca Martinez; brothers: Jose and Ricardo Martinez; and sister: Amelia Martinez.

Survivors include her sons: Eulalio Torres, Jr. (Anna), Ernest Torres and Rene Torres (Rosie), all of Sinton, Texas; daughters: Elisa Martinez (Lupe) of Sinton, Texas and Maria Elena Balboa (Rocky) of Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers: Jesus Martinez, David Martinez, Refugio Martinez and Alfredo Martinez, all of Sinton, Texas; Baldemar Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; sisters: Senaida Ramirez of San Juan, Texas, Antonia Diaz of Brownfield, Texas and Alicia Rivas of Sinton, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will begin Thursday, July 20, 2017, 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited Friday, July 21, 2017, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 22, 2017, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
