Taft – Roberto “Prope” Adame Torres, Jr. passed away June 19, 2017. He was 59. Roberto was born in Sinton, Texas on October 4, 1957 to Roberto and Margarita (Adame) Torres. He was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas and a welder / instructor for Gulf Marine for more than 30 years.

Roberto is preceded in death by his son Robert Torres, III and his father, Roberto Torres.

Survivors include his wife: Linda Torres of Taft, Texas; sons: Rico Torres (Lisa Marie) and Ricky Torres, both of Taft, Texas; daughter: Teri Torres (Crespin Amayo) of Taft, Texas; 7 grandchildren; mother: Margarita Gonzales (Ruben) of Taft, Texas; brothers: Roland Torres of Corpus Christi, Texas; Ruben Gonzales (Linda) of Taft, Texas; Roy Gonzales (Raquel) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Randy Gonzales (Priscilla) of Taft, Texas; sisters: Roxanne Gonzales; Ronica Gonzales; and Jo Ann Gutierrez, all of Taft, Texas; Sylvia Mejia (Juan) of Edinburg, Texas; Linda Chapa of Lake Mary, Florida; Raquel Ruvo (Justin) of Pearland, Texas; Debbie Ivey (Troy) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Cyndi Paulsen (William) of Melbourne, Florida; Pricilla Torres of Taft, Texas and Telly Costilla (Pedro) of Taft, Texas; stepmother: Estella Ninfa Torres of Taft, Texas.

Visitation will begin Thursday, June 22, 2017, 4:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 23, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
