Odem - Tommy Joel Jay passed away peacefully at his home after a long battle with COPD on February 15, 2018. He was 75.
Tommy is survived by his wife: Cheryl; son: Allen; daughter-in-law: Vicki; and grandsons: Cody and Paul. He will also be remembered by his brother and sisters (Lonnie, Judy, Linda) and extended family (Huttons) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tommy was a veteran of 10 years in the United States Navy and 10 years in the United States Coast Guard. He was an aviation mechanic where he was well known for his attention to detail. Tommy grew up in San Antonio Texas where he learned to work on cars. After his service in the military, he continued his love of cars working as a mechanic and collecting classic Chevys. After his disease caused him to retire from working on cars, he developed a passion for bird watching – especially doves and hummingbirds.
A graveside service was held Friday, February 16, 2018, 10:00 AM at the Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
