Abelardo G. Nieto

Sinton – Abelardo G. Nieto passed away peacefully on November 22, 2019. He was 76.

Abelardo was born in Mirando City, Texas on August 20, 1943 to Pedro, Sr. and Julia (Garza) Nieto. He was a retired welder and blacksmith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death is his loving wife: Cleotilde Nieto: parents: Pedro, Sr. and Julia Nieto; brothers: Pedrito Nieto; Alfonso Nieto; Cayetano Nieto; Margarito Nieto and Pedro Nieto, Jr.; sisters: Marie Benita Nieto and Maria Emma Bustillos.

Survivors include daughters: Elma N. Barrera; Patricia N. Hinojosa and Maria B. Ramirez, all of Sinton, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brothers: George Nieto (Norma) of Taft, Texas and Reynaldo Nieto of Odem, Texas; sister: Maria Soliz of Gregory, Texas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 24, 2019, 1:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church, Sinton with Father Yul Ibay as celebrant. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.

Pallbearers will be Alex Nieto, Alfonso Nieto, Julian Nieto, Margarito Nieto, Michael Nieto and Pete Nieto.
