Sinton – Alicia Serrano Guzman passed away peacefully on November 20, 2019. After a long-term battle with Kidney cancer. She was 73.
Alicia was born in Idalou, Texas on November 13, 1946 to Lucio G. and Rosaura M. Serrano. She was a lifetime resident of Sinton. She had previously worked at the Beauty Salon on Sinton Street, and was a homemaker and a Care Provider before she retired. Alicia was a Cursillista and a devoted Guadalupana at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding in death is her husband Ricardo E. Guzman Sr.; her parents: Lucio G. and Rosaura M. Serrano; her in-laws: Camilo A. and Enriqueta E. Guzman; her sister: Carmelita S. Carranza; and her sister-in-law: Juanita G. Ramirez, all from Sinton, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter: Vicky S. Guzman (Manuel Solano); son: Ricardo E. Guzman, Jr., all of Sinton, Texas; godson: C.J. Rodriguez of Corpus Christi Texas; her loving grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally: Hunter M. McCune; Ashley M. Villarreal and Austin M. Villarreal; brothers: Oscar Serrano (Beatrice) of Sinton, Texas.; Alonzo Serrano of San Antonio, Texas; Eddie Serrano (Becky) of La Vernia, Texas; sisters: Maria Luz Gonzalez; Esmeralda Reyna (Lino); Tomasita S. Tovar (Jose Garcia); Delia Serrano (Paul Rodriguez), all of Sinton, Texas; Angelita Morataya (Jose) of Corpus Christi Texas; Sylvia Esparza (Jose Daniel) of Mesa, Arizona; Estellita S. Hart (Darrin) and Jessica S. Meza (Blaz) of Houston, Texas: brother-in-law: Emilio G. Carranza Sr. of Sinton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and most importantly the Guzman in-law family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2019, 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, November 27, 2019, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 725 Sodville Road in Sinton with Father Glen Mullan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
