Taft – Antonio H. Chia passed away July 26, 2017. He was 71.

Antonio was born December 21, 1945 in Mexico to Francisco and Sara (Hernandez) Chia. He worked construction most of his life. Antonio was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Preceding Antonio in death are his wife Maria Elena Chia; a son, Manuel Ramirez; and his parents, Francisco and Sara Chia.

Survivors include his sons: Antonio Chia, Jr. (Cynthia Mireles) of Taft, Texas and Frank Chia (Sandra) of Brookshire, Texas; daughters: Christie Ambler (Jaime) of Enterprise, Alabama; Sara Chia Hernandez (Rene) of Navasota, Texas and Margie Chia of Savannah, TN; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation will begin Sunday, July 30, 2017, 3:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 31, 2017, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft with Father Pete Stanley as celebrant. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
