San Antonio - Musician and barber, Arturo P. Yglesias, Jr. born in Taft, TX on November 24, 1938 went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2018 in San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Arturo S. Yglesias and Julia Pedraza Yglesias. Mr. Yglesias is survived by siblings, brothers: Julio (Alicia) and Martin (Yolanda) of Taft, TX ; sisters: Elvira (Ezekial) Rodriguez of Taft, TX; Diana (Richard) Charles of Corpus Christi, TX; Elena (Plutarco) Ojeda and Carmen (Jimmy) Hernandez of Lockhart, TX. Other survivors include daughter; Debra Guerra; his 20-year companion, Teresa Segura; and her daughters: Annabelle (Ken) Ransom and Sylvia (JJ) Sandoval, all of San Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He had two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Art is well known in the music industry and began playing in bands at age 13. He enjoyed entertaining everyone by playing his drums and congas. One of the first bands he played with was Isidro Lopez Orchestra. He also played with Dallas Jazz Orchestra and formed his own Latin-Jazz orchestra.
He also worked as a barber for many years and enjoyed meeting people. One of his favorite customers was Bob Lilly of the Dallas Cowboys football team. Art will be missed by many who knew him.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel located at 606 S. San Patricio St., Sinton. A rosary will be held the same day, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church located at 120 Escobedo St., Taft
